ClosedDoor (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What information we collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number
- Property preferences: suburbs of interest, budget range, property type
- Listing information: property details provided by sellers
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, timestamps
- Communications: messages sent through the platform
How we use your information
- To match buyers with relevant listings and sellers
- To send match notifications and platform updates
- To facilitate private conversations between matched parties
- To improve platform features and performance
- To comply with legal obligations
What we don't share
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. Your contact details (email, phone) are never shared with another user without your explicit consent.
Sellers see only your general budget range and suburb interest area until you choose to share more. Buyers see only property location and features until the seller approves contact.
Where your data is stored
Your account, buyer interests, listings and messages are stored in a PostgreSQL database run by Neon in Sydney, Australia (AWS ap-southeast-2). Ownership documents you upload for listing verification are stored privately in Vercel Blob storage in Sydney and are only ever viewed by ClosedDoor staff. The application itself runs on Vercel, with its server functions in Sydney; Vercel's global edge network handles requests in transit.
Some processing happens outside Australia. Transactional email (match alerts, new-message notices, verification and referral emails) is sent through Resend, which is based in the United States and retains sending logs that include your email address. Emails never contain another party's name, contact details or a dormant listing's address. Anonymous, aggregated usage analytics are collected by Vercel Web Analytics. Property estimates are generated by Anthropic using only the suburb and property attributes you enter, never your personal details. If payments are enabled, Stripe processes card details; ClosedDoor never stores them. All data is protected with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest and access controls.
Cookies
We use session cookies for authentication and essential platform functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
