Terms of Service

By using ClosedDoor, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before creating an account or using any platform features.

1. Platform purpose

ClosedDoor is a technology platform that facilitates introductions between property buyers and sellers in Australia. We are not a licensed real estate agent, conveyancer, or legal advisor. Any match or conversation facilitated through the platform does not constitute a binding agreement.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older and a resident of Australia to use ClosedDoor. By registering, you confirm these conditions are met.

3. Expressions of Interest are not contractual offers

Any Expression of Interest submitted through ClosedDoor is not an offer capable of acceptance and creates no legal obligation on any party. It does not constitute a legally binding contract to buy or sell a property. Formal contracts must be prepared and executed off-platform by licensed solicitors or conveyancers.

4. User responsibilities

• You must provide accurate and truthful information about yourself and your property
• You must not use the platform for fraudulent, misleading, or harmful purposes
• You must not contact other users outside the platform without their consent
• You are responsible for conducting your own due diligence on any property or buyer

5. Listing accuracy

Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of all listing information. ClosedDoor does not verify property details, title, or ownership. Buyers should conduct independent due diligence.

6. Fees

Buyers pay nothing. Dormant listings are free. A public listing incurs a one-off fee of $149 inc. GST, payable at the time the listing is made public and non-refundable once live. ClosedDoor does not charge any fee calculated on or contingent upon the sale of a property. Current pricing is shown on our Pricing page. All fees are in AUD.

7. Referrals

Where a user requests an introduction to a conveyancer, broker or inspector, ClosedDoor may receive a referral fee from that party. Users are under no obligation to use a referred party.

8. Early access

During early access the public listing fee may be waived at ClosedDoor's discretion.

9. Verification badges

“ID verified”, “Finance verified” and listing ownership checks reflect documents a user provided at a point in time. They are not a guarantee of identity, borrowing capacity, ownership or the outcome of any sale, and finance verification lapses on the expiry date shown. Make your own enquiries and rely on your conveyancer, lender and other professionals.

10. Disclosure documents

Vendor disclosure statements, contracts and other documents shared on ClosedDoor are provided by the seller. ClosedDoor does not prepare, review or verify their contents and is not responsible for their accuracy or completeness. Sellers are responsible for meeting the disclosure requirements of their state or territory; buyers should have documents reviewed by a conveyancer or solicitor before signing anything.

11. Inspections

Inspections are arranged directly between buyers and sellers. ClosedDoor is not present at, does not supervise and is not responsible for any inspection, the condition of a property or anyone's safety or conduct during a visit. A property address shared for an inspection must be kept private and used only for that inspection.

12. Limitation of liability

ClosedDoor is not liable for any loss or damage arising from transactions entered into between buyers and sellers. We make no warranty regarding the suitability of any listing, the accuracy of buyer information, or the outcome of any negotiation.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or harms other users of the platform.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Victorian courts.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
